The end of Yannick Ngakoue’s tenure with the Jacksonville Jaguars didn’t end well. With public blow-ups with management and requests to be traded in the offseason, Ngakoue eventually got his wish and was sent to the Minnesota Vikings before heading to the Baltimore Ravens midseason. With the Ravens and Jaguars meeting in Week 15, it was a chance for Ngakoue to show up his former team.
And boy did he. Ngakoue had arguably his best statistical performance in Baltimore, notching a sack in the first half before this strip-sack late in the third quarter. It was a big play that came at the right time for the Ravens, stopping the Jaguars’ momentum-building drive.

Earlier in the week, Jacksonville quarterback Gardner Minshew told reporters Ngakoue was “going to be out for blood.” Though Ngakoue downplayed the importance of this game, it’s oddly convenient this was the week Ngakoue elevated his play.
