Less than a week after surgery to remove a malignant tumor from his colon, Trey Mancini turned 28 on Wednesday. And in celebration of his birthday and recovery, the Orioles put together a video from teammates and manager Brandon Hyde wishing him both a happy birthday and speedy recovery.

The video was kicked off by pitcher John Means, who later said, "We know you're going to get through this. You've got the entire organization behind you."

The Orioles followed up with a video from Mo Gaba, a young Orioles and Ravens fan who is currently battling cancer for the fourth time in his young life, who wished Mancini well too

The Wizards Twitter account also wished Mancini a happy birthday as well.

Mancini left the team during spring training a few weeks ago for a "non-baseball medical procedure." The team released statements from Mancini and executive vice president Mike Elias thanking fans for support.

"The outpouring of love and support I have received has made an extremely tough week so much better," Mancini said through the statement. "I have the best family, friends, fans, and teammates imaginable. I am also eternally thankful for the Orioles' front office, our athletic trainers, and the entire medical staff for everything they have done to help me during this time. Finally, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and kind words, which have furthered my excitement to get back to playing the game I love."
