Watch: Notre Dame’s defense forces a safety against Navy

·1 min read

The Irish offense hasn’t been at it’s best against the Midshipmen, but after a fantastic punt by Jay Bramblett that put Navy on the the 1-yard line, the Notre Dame defense turned up the pressure.

After stuffing a first down run, defensive tackle Kurt Hinish made yet another big play from the middle of the Irish defensive line. The senior quickly was in the backfield of Navy’s and forced quarterback Xavier Arline into a bad pitch. Even though Arline did end up jumping back on the fumble, it was in the end zone and resulted in points for the Irish. It’s a slugfest type game between Navy and Notre Dame, but the Irish hold onto a 19-6 lead which seems larger than it actually is.
