Game notes: The Rising Stars game will see Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham, second-year forward Saddiq Bey and second-year center Isaiah Stewart compete. They are divided between four seven-player teams in a three-game mini tournament. The tournament will be played to a target score, meaning each game will be won with a shot or free throw instead of the clock running out. The first two games will be played to 50 points, and the final game will be played to 25 points. The teams are made up of rookies, second-year players and four G League players, a significant change from the previous format, which pitted the NBA's best American-born first and second-year players against the league's best international young talent. Each team is coached by a Basketball Hall of Famer. The matchups: Team Rick Barry vs. Team Gary Payton; Team Isiah Thomas vs. Team James Worthy. The two winners then play. Before the final, there will be a timed shooting competition called the Clutch Challenge. Four teams of two will compete to make shots from five locations on the court tied to iconic shots made in the NBA playoffs.
