New Houston Texans quarterback Davis Mills from Stanford was calm and collected when he got the call from general manager Nick Caserio.

In a video published to Twitter by his mother, Mills takes the call from the Texans and says he’s just hanging out with his family.

Davis told reporters on April 30 that he was surprised by the call, but he handled the phone call well.

“Surprised by the call,” Mills said. Obviously, very humbled to take on this new challenge in the NFL. I can’t wait to get out to Houston and meet the staff, meet the coaches, meet the players and start putting my head down and get to work and start earning my teammates’ trust.”

Mills already has a sister in Houston, Ali Mills, who played tennis at the University of Houston, and is currently working in wealth management. Mills says he may have to crash at his sister’s place as he gets acclimated to the Bayou City.
