EDGYTIM's Scouting Report: New Trier 2019 TE/DE Duke Olges

Winnetka (Ill.) New Trier junior tight end/defensive end prospect Duke Olges(6-foot-4, 230 pounds) has been very impressive this summer at various camps. Olges, who played on the Trevians offensive line in 2016 talks about his latest recruiting news and more here.

"We are finishing up our team camp this week," Olges said. "After this week we get a break from team camp and then we report back for practices. It's gone by really fast and everyone is excited for the football season to get here."

Olges discussed his latest recruiting news.

"I was able to camp this summer at Northwestern, the Notre Dame Irish Invasion camp, the North Central College satellite camp along with satellite camps at Elmhurst College and I also went to Michigan State. The camps all went pretty well. I've also been in touch with Western Michigan, Minnesota, Vanderbilt and Stanford. I'm planning to visit Stanford in early August. We will be taking a vacation out West and we plan to stop in for a visit at Stanford. As far as any dram schools I would say schools like Northwestern, Notre Dame, Stanford along with Vanderbilt and Duke are my top schools, but that list could always change. I'm very open when it comes to schools and my recruiting."

Olges is also pretty open when it comes to an eventual position at the college level.

"I worked out at defensive end for Northwestern and Michigan State and several other schools watched me workout as a tight end. I also played offensive line last year and I'm open when it comes to a position in college. I really like tight end but I'm also starting to understand the defensive line better and I like that position as well."

Olges discussed what he feels are his strengths on the field and more.

"I like to think that I'm very coachable and I like to get others feedback then make the needed adjustments. I just like to work hard and get better all the time. I worked this winter on improving my overall speed along with adding more size and strength."

Olges is also excited for the Trevians chances this coming season.

"We have great team chemistry this year. Everyone is on the same page and working really hard. We have a few positions up for grabs but we have a lot of strong competition for those few spots. We have a chance at having a very good team this season and it's exciting."
