Lombard (Ill.) Montini Catholic junior offensive guard prospect Mike McNicholas(6-foot-4, 285 pounds) has been impressive this summer at various camps. McNicholas, who played on the Broncos offensive and defensive line in 2016 talks about his latest recruiting news and more here.
"Our team camp has gone very well this summer," McNicholas said. "Everyone is getting to know each other and everyone is working hard. We have a new coach (Mike Bukovsky) but Coach Bu has been at Montini forever so it's not a big change for us at all."
McNicholas discussed his latest recruiting news.
"I was able to camp this summer at North Central College for the satellite camps and I thought that the camps went well. I was able to talk with coaches from different schools and I also enjoyed getting coached by some really good college line coaches. I've gotten some early interest from a few schools like Western Michigan and also Ferris State."
McNicholas also discussed what he feels are some of the strengths in his game and more.
"I've been working hard on being a bit more flexible and just get better overall bend. I also worked hard on my overall speed and feet and I'm always working on getting stronger and just better at everything each day. I love to just get out and pull. I love getting out and pulling and just being able to lead the running game. I also feel that I'm a good teammate and I try to be there for my teammates."
Does McNicholas have a dream school?
"I'm a huge fan of Ohio State. They just have a great team and a great football program and they are always in the national championship picture every year."
