Watch Lewis Cine and Andrew Booth Jr. take field together for first time
Minnesota Vikings rookie safety Lewis Cine and cornerback Andrew Booth Jr. were one of 44 players taking the field on Friday for the start of rookie minicamp.
It represented the beginning of a new era for the Vikings with two players that could turn into the future faces of the franchise. Cine, a first-round pick out of the University of Georgia, won the defensive MVP in the Bulldogs’ national championship victory over Alabama last season.
Meanwhile, Booth, the second-round pick out of Clemson, had college quarterbacks scared to even throw in his direction. The two rookies will be joining a Vikings secondary that already includes two veteran legends in Patrick Peterson and Harrison Smith.

The Vikings defense allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game on average in 2021. So they’re depending on the rapid development of their two young stars to compete in a league dominated by high-powered offenses.
The rookie duo will get to face one of those offenses right off the bat with Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers slated to come to town in Week 1 of the regular season.
