They're partying like 2016 in the East Midlands.

Jamie Vardy scored his English Premier League-leading 11th goal of the season Saturday, which held up as the winner in Leicester City's 2-0 victory over Arsenal at King Power Stadium.

Vardy finished off a strong buildup, burying Youri Tielemans' incisive pass on one touch in the 68th minute.

The 32-year-old, who was left out of Gareth Southgate's England side for their final European qualifiers, regained the league's goal-scoring lead with the goal. Vardy has now scored 20 goals in 22 games since manager Brendan Rodgers took over for Leicester last season, and is on pace to far exceed the career-high 24 goals he scored for Leicester's title-winning side in 2015-16.

Vardy turned set-up man seven minutes later, assisting on James Maddison's 75th-minute strike.

Maddison's goal moved Leicester into a tie for second place, and the Foxes have an inside edge towards a Champions League berth with a nine-point lead on fifth-place Sheffield United. Depending upon the results of Sunday's Liverpool-Manchester City clash, Leicester could head into the international break in second place.
