A former Boston Celtics champion thinks the team he used to anchor in the paint needs a big move to keep the team a contender, one that might surprise some Celtics fans.

Former Celtics center Kendrick Perkins thinks Boston ought to find a way to move starting point guard Kemba Walker to another team, even if it means burning several picks of valuable draft capital to get the deal done. That’s a bold, potentially franchise-altering move if ever there was one — but would the altering be for good — or would the Celtics end up being the worse for having made it?

Watch the video embedded above to hear Perkins’ take on what the team should do with Walker for yourself, and see if you agree.

We tend to think the UConn product is coming along as planned, but with the record looking like it is right now, it’s hard not to sympathize with those who want to make an aggressive move to right the ship.
