Watch Rice catch burrito launched 100 yards out of cannon originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

People love to argue over who the best wide receiver of all time is. For me, it’s 49ers legend Jerry Rice. Here’s why.

Sure, he’s a Hall of Famer, a 13-time Pro Bowler, and holds multiple NFL records, but it was catching a burrito that traveled for 100 yards out of a cannon that did it for me.

Yep.

In a recent commercial for Postmates, Rice -- well, he ran a route and caught a wrapped burrito.

It wasn’t as easy as you might think, but after a few tries, he got it.

“I didn’t think it was going to be this hard,” he said. But he never gave up. His tenacity showed. Rice even called it out saying it was the “fourth quarter” meaning it was crunch time.

After catching it, however, Rice celebrated by throwing the burrito on the ground, and I can’t help but be a little upset about that. But he did it with a burrito mascot in the stands watching the entire thing so perhaps that makes up for it.

Go ahead and add 100 yards to the 22,895 he already possesses across his illustrious 21-year NFL career.

Also, I’m pretty sure I have a journal entry somewhere where I wished sports would embrace a burrito cannon, so this was a big day for me.

Congratulations to the GOAT for catching the first-ever 100-yard burrito.
