Garnet Hathaway couldn't have picked a better time to score his first goal with the Boston Bruins.
The veteran forward scored what ended up being the game-winner in Saturday's game vs. the Detroit Red Wings. He put one past goaltender Magnus Hellberg with 6:06 left in the third period to propel Boston to a 3-2 comeback victory at TD Garden.

Hathaway's clutch goal also helped the Bruins make history. They became the fastest NHL team ever to reach the 50 win mark in a season, accomplishing the feat in just 64 games. The The 2018-19 Tampa Bay Lightning and 1995-96 Red Wings previously held the record at 66 games.
The Bruins will clinch a spot in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs if the New York Islanders lose to the Capitals or if the Ottawa Senators fall to the Vancouver Canucks in regulation on Saturday night. They will host the Red Wings again Sunday at 1:30 p.m. ET.
