Watch: Dolphins score strange defensive TD on Matt Cassel sack

Matt Cassel was pressed into service this week for the Tennessee Titans when Marcus Mariota couldn’t go. And based on the early going in Miami, Mariota owes Cassel at least a steak dinner.

Early in the game, Cassel dropped back, looking for an open receiver, when the Miami DolphinsKiko Alonso absolutely leveled him. It sure looked like Cassel had an incomplete pass fall to the ground harmlessly, but Miami’s Reshad Jones snapped up the ball and ran it back for a touchdown.

Reviews showed that, yep, that was a live ball, not an incomplete pass. Play to the whistle, everybody.
