WATCH: Deion Sanders holds first team meeting of the summer

Over the weekend, Colorado head coach Deion Sanders led his first summer meeting with his even newer-look team. Of course, there was a lot to unpack, and a number of coaches stood in front of the team to give their thoughts.

Let’s start with Sanders, who was nothing but thankful for being given this opportunity:

“I’m happy, I’m excited and I could not wait for this day,” Sanders said to his team. “I could not wait to be in front of this collective group and I thank you all for giving us the opportunity to coach you. I thank you for giving us the opportunity to lead you. I thank you all for choosing us when you could’ve chosen anywhere else… This is the genesis of everything. that we’re going towards.”

Defensive coordinator Charles Kelly, who was recently with Nick Saban at Alabama, also spoke to the Buffs:

“All you need to worry about is going to work,” Kelly said. “Don’t worry about the results; the results will take care of themselves… You were chosen to be here. We got a lot of work to do this summer. We’re going to get started this week.”

And, the always riveting tight ends coach Tim Brewster gave a few words to the team as well.
