Carey Price faced 45 shots and dealt with another three attempts during the shootout in Thursday’s epic goalie dual with Tampa Bay Lightning standout Andrei Vasilevskiy, but there will only be one save folks in Montreal will be talking over the weekend.

Pulled out of the net to make a spectacular glove save on Tyler Johnson early in overtime, Price avoided taking a fifth consecutive loss by rolling over on his back and desperately lifting his paddle and both pads into the air to create a wall to deny Ondrej Palat of the winner.

His extra effort in extra time could be the save of the season so far in the NHL – and one that has momentarily stemmed the bleeding in Montreal as the Canadiens prevailed in the shootout against the NHL-best Lightning.
