Rutgers got a big response following a turnover and a Wisconsin touchdown, keyed by another huge catch from wide receiver Bo Melton on a deep pass from quarterback Noah Vedral.

The deep connection with Melton came after Vedral threw an interception on just the second play of Rutgers’ opening drive. Rutgers took over the ball down 7-0 following a 14-yard run from Chez Mellusi put the Badgers on the scoreboard first.

For Rutgers, the drive started on their own 25-yard line with an 11-yard pass to tight end Johnny Langan, and then was boosted two plays later by a big pass from Vedral to Bo Melton for 35 yards.

A 24-yard field goal by Valentino Ambrosio, capping off a 10-play, 68-yard drive to make it a 7-3 lead for Wisconsin.
