Drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 51st pick of the 2019 NBA draft out of Louisiana State University, 5-foot-11 two way floor general Tremont Waters was born in this day in New Haven, Connecticut.

The former Tiger spent most of his rookie season in the NBA’s G League playing for the Celtics’ developmental franchise in that league, the (Portland) Maine Red Claws, getting votes for G League Most Valuable Player (MVP) and winning Rookie of the Year honors. In honor of the Celtic’s birthday, we are sharing a compilation of the best plays from his G League career to date put together by Tomasz Kordylewski.

He may well see heavy minutes with the parent club tonight given the high numbers of Celtics who are unavailable to play against the Miami Heat, several of whom are in the NBA’s health and safety protocol.

However it goes, we wish Waters the best; happy birthday to the Celtic point guard on this January day.
