Watch: Austin Reaves highlights from Team USA’s loss to Germany

Team USA was hoping to win back the gold medal in this year’s FIBA World Cup after a very dismal showing in the last such tournament back in 2019. That year, it finished only seventh.

Unfortunately, there will be no real redemption this time around.

On Friday morning, the Americans suffered a stunning loss to Germany in the semifinal round, 113-111. Former Los Angeles Lakers guard Dennis Schroder was a big problem with 17 points and nine assists, plus a couple of clutch baskets late to seal Team USA’s fate.

Austin Reaves did his best to give the Americans a chance to win. He scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting overall and 3-of-5 from 3-point range, with eleven of those points coming in the final 4:28 of the contest.

As usual, he provided a few highlights.

Team USA can still claim the bronze medal if it defeats Canada on Sunday.
