Washington vs. Philadelphia Eagles Week 17 inactives originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

It's win or go home for Washington. And, in the must-win matchup for the Burgundy and Gold against Philadelphia, the Football Team will have three of its most important players active.

After missing the past 10 quarters with a calf injury, quarterback Alex Smith is back in the lineup for Washington against Philadelphia. Taylor Heinicke -- who came on in relief last week for Dwayne Haskins and performed quite well -- will serve as the backup.

Smith will have his top target, Terry McLaurin, in the lineup. The second-year standout is back in the lineup this week, despite not practicing, after missing last week's game with a high ankle sprain.

At running back, rookie Antonio Gibson will be active for the second straight week, despite not practicing all week with a toe injury.

On the defensive side of the ball, Washington will be without linebacker Thomas Davis, who's been dealing with a knee injury. Davis, 37, has played a limited role during his one season in Washington and announced last week that he's planning to retire following the season.

For Philadelphia, the Eagles will be without a number of key contributors as they attempt to play spoiler against Washington.

Star running back Miles Sanders, who missed the Week 1 matchup between the two teams, is out with a knee injury. Tight end Dallas Goedert is out with a calf injury. Veteran pass-catcher DeSean Jackson will also not play with an ankle injury. Starting tackle Jordan Mailatta is also out with a concussion.

This all goes without mentioning that quarterback Carson Wentz is a healthy scratch. Wentz, the once future-of-the-franchise QB for the Eagles, now has his future in the City of Brotherly Love in doubt.

On the defensive side of the football, the Eagles will be without numerous defensive starters including standout Fletcher Cox. Other key contributors Derek Barnett and Jalen Mills are out, too.
