After making his long-awaited return to the court after being out for over two seasons due to injury, Klay Thompson has appeared in the starting lineup for the Golden State Warriors for three games.

Through three contests, Thompson is averaging 14 points on 35.7% shooting from the field and 35% from long distance with 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 per contest. In each game, Thompson has played around the 20-minute mark.

Following three consecutive games on the court, Thompson received a rest day on Friday against the Chicago Bulls.

On Sunday, the 31-year-old guard could be getting an increase in playing time against the Minnesota Timberwolves. According to Golden State head coach Steve Kerr, the Warriors plan to slightly bump Thompson’s minutes on Sunday against the Timberwolves, per Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

While the Warriors will continue to be patient with Thompson’s return from injury, an increase in minutes is a positive sign for the five-time All-Star guard.

On Sunday, the Warriors could potentially lean on Thompson’s offensive attack with a pair of his teammates out. Both Steph Curry (hand) and Draymond Green (calf) have been ruled out against the Timberwolves on Sunday.

Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins, Otto Porter Jr. and Thompson will likely have to help carry Golden State’s offense against Karl-Anthony Towns, D’Angelo Russell and the Timberwolves on Sunday.

Tipoff is set for 5 p.m. PT on Sunday in Minnesota.
