Bazemore responds to Beal, says situation got out of hand originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

While Kent Bazemore and the Warriors were playing the Utah Jazz at Chase Center on Monday night, Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal was going on a Twitter rant.

Beal was responding to comments Bazemore made earlier in the day.

After the Warriors beat the Jazz, 119-116, in a thrilling game, Bazemore met with the media and was asked about Beal's reaction.

"I guess you can't joke anymore," Bazemore told reporters on a video conference call. "Whatever. I don't know man, I feel like I'm a pretty lighthearted guy. I stay in my own lane. I don't say things to ruffle feathers. Hey man, if you want to know where my loyalty is, it's to [Steph Curry]. Anybody out there chasing him, it's going to be tough. Whatever. It kind of got out of hand. I didn't check my phone all day, so it's kind of blowing up I don't get involved with that crap. Gonna go home, love my wife, watch some 'Peaky Blinders' and go to bed. I got work to do tomorrow."

Asked if he plans to reach out to Beal to clear the air, Bazemore didn't seem to feel like there was a reason to call the NBA All-Star guard.

"There's nothing really to explain," Bazemore said. "I was laughing, jokingly, half-heartedly said it. It's not like I said I hope he does it. He's already out. I ain't wish anything bad on him. It was just a comment. It's the kind of world we're living in right now, little bit sensitive, little sore palm calling me out. Whatever. Roll with the punches, keep your head down, keep going. It'll pass probably tomorrow. Gonna wake up and everything will be the same. I ain't got time for all that Twitter trash."

After shootaround on Monday, Bazemore was talking about Curry and finished with a comment that was interpreted as a jab at Beal.

“Forty-nine points in 29 minutes, that’s unreal,” Bazemore said after the team’s Monday morning shootaround. “We got guys hurting hamstrings to keep up.”

Bazemore's comments referenced Beal injuring his left hamstring during Washington's overtime win over the Indiana Pacers on Saturday. Beal scored 50 points in the victory but didn't finish the game because of the injury.

What Bazemore thought was a harmless joke turned into Kamiah Adams-Beal, Bradley's wife, responding on Twitter to the comments. She clearly wasn't happy.

Then, just as the Warriors-Jazz game was starting, Beal started firing off tweets at Bazemore.

Those are some of the safe-for-work tweets from Beal.

He was pretty worked up, so don't expect Bazemore's explanation to satisfy the Wizards' star.
