Edgewood defeated Jefferson 48-35 on Saturday for a Chagrin Valley Conference Lake Division girls basketball win at Edgewood High School.
The Warriors improved to 16-1, 11-1 in the conference and earned at least a share of the conference crown for the first time in school history.
Edgewood can clinch the CVC Lake outright at Madison on Wednesday, or home against Conneaut on Saturday.
"I'm just so proud of our team and our coaching staff," Warriors coach Randy Vencill said. "They have worked hard all season and everyone has bought in. It's been a total team effort."
Faith Vencill led Edgewood with 13 points, while McKenna Vencill added nine.
Trailing 12-10 after the first quarter, the Warriors took a 20-19 lead into halftime.
Jefferson led 33-31 after three quarters, but Edgewood surged ahead in the fourth with a 17-2 advantage.
"The keys to the win were defense and rebounding," Randy Vencill said. "We stuck with the game plan and had a great fourth quarter. We finished the game well."
Senior guard Katie McCollister has been proud of how far the team has come along.
"Last year was very successful. To come out this year and win that title is huge for us," she said. "We're so grateful for how this year has gone, and even more grateful to be able to give Randy a CVC Lake title."
Tatum Bordeaux paced the Falcons with 12 points.
