After dropping all three games of the California Classic at San Francisco’s Chase Center, the Golden State Warriors took a trip to the desert for the annual Las Vegas Summer League.

Despite the move to Las Vegas, the Warriors’ Summer League struggles continued in Sin City against the New York Knicks in the opener.

After the Knicks grabbed an early six-point lead in the first quarter, the Warriors battled back in the second quarter. However, Golden State’s defense couldn’t keep up with Quinten Grimes. The 2021 first-round pick out of Houston led the Knicks with 24 points on 8-of-21 shooting from the floor with eight assists and four boards in 32 minutes.

Along with Grimes, four other members of the Knicks tallied double-figure scoring on the way to a 101-88 victory in favor of New York.

Although the Warriors dropped another Summer League contest, Moses Moody went off for 34 points to lead all scorers in Friday’s exhibition at UNLV. On the way to a game-high 34 points, the former Arkansas guard shot 8-of-13 from the field and 3-of-6 from the deep with five boards in 27 minutes.

Following their loss to the Knicks on Friday, the Warriors will meet the San Antonio Spurs at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. PT.
