The Rochester football team did just about anything it wanted on the ground for 47 minutes Friday at home against Seton Catholic, but couldn't get the 2 final yards it needed in a 32-30 loss to Seton Catholic.

The Warriors ran the ball 77 times for 479 yards on the ground, and had three 100-yard rushers: Mason Armstrong (138 yards), Tate Quarnstrom (135 yards), and Palmer Watt (108 yards).

"If you run for 479 yards, your offensive line is doing something right," Rochester coach A.J. Easley said. "They fought and they battled, and played awesome."

After going down 32-24 with 8:40 left on the clock, the Warriors proceeded to rumbled 95 yards downfield, punctuated by a 13-yard Watt touchdown with 1:21 left.

Needing a two-point conversion to tie the game, Easley initially called timeout when he didn't like the look he saw at the line of scrimmage. Coming back, the Warriors gave the ball to Quarnstrom, but the Cougars stopped him cold.

"It was the same play Tate had run for 130 yards," Easley said. "One other time out of the times he had carried was stopped for a loss or no gain, and that happened to be the second time."

Carson Rotter, starting at quarterback in his debut, added 19 yards on the ground, and completed his only pass of the day, a six-yard ball to Nolan Hudson.

Rochester is set to host Rochester next Friday.
