Welcome to the third installment of the Seacoast high school Athletes of the Week for the 2023-24 winter season, presented by York County Community College.

This week, and in weeks to come, you can vote for a girls athlete of the week and a boys athlete of the week.

This week's poll is for outstanding athletic accomplishments during the week of Jan. 1-6.

How do I cast my vote?

Voting can be completed through the two ballots listed below. Voting closes midnight Thursday, Jan. 4.

How do we learn who wins?

Winners will be announced in a story published on Friday, Jan. 5. at seacoastonline.com and fosters.com.

May I nominate for future ballots?

Yes. Nominate a Seacoast high school athlete by sending an email to sports@seacoastonline.com. Feel free to send us a photo of the athlete, too.

Here are this week's nominees and polls:

BOYS ATHLETE OF WEEK NOMINEES

Lukas Bouchard, York, basketball

York High School junior center Lukas Bouchard

Bouchard scored 20 points and snagged 15 rebounds, as his double-double led York to a Class B South win over Cape Elizabeth, 55-32, last Tuesday. Bouchard had 10 points and 16 rebounds for the Wildcats in Saturday's 71-42 win over Lake Region.

Kian Chan, Portsmouth, swimming

Chan won both the 200 individual medley (2 minutes 46.5 seconds) and the 100 butterfly (1:16.79) to help guide the Clippers to a dual meet win over Timberlane, 98-13.

Tully Keefe, Somersworth/Coe-Brown, hockey

Keefe had three goals and one assist for Somersworth/Coe-Brown in a 9-1 win over Monadnock/ConVal on Saturday.

Ivan Sturgis, Portsmouth Christian Academy, track and field

Sturgis was part of the PCA medley team that broke a school record by 30 seconds, with a time of 11 minutes, 26.81 seconds at the Dartmouth Relays on Saturday. Sturgis also broke his own school record in the 600 (1:29.7)

Butler scored 16 of his game-high 24 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Red Raiders' rally past Concord, 58-52, in a Division I win on Friday.

GIRLS ATHLETE OF WEEK NOMINEES

Grella scored two goals, and added two assists, in a 5-1 win over Keene/Fall Mountain last Tuesday for the Saints.

Kira Jakobs, Oyster River/Portsmouth, hockey

Jakobs scored three goals, and assisted on another, as Oyster River/Portsmouth defeated Keene/Fall Mountain, 7-6, on Saturday in a Division I matchup.

Anna McGuinness, Exeter, basketball

McGuinness scored a team-high 17 points in the Blue Hawks' Division I win over Manchester Central, 55-50 on Friday.

Emilie von der Linden, St. Thomas Aquinas, basketball

St. Thomas Aquinas High School girls basketball player Emilie von der Linden

Von der Linden scored a career-high 20 points, and recorded a double double with 12 rebounds, as the Saints picked up a 59-26 win over Belmont in a Division III battle on Friday. She had 12 points in Wednesday's 48-41 win over Gilford.

Smith won the pole vault (8 feet) and was second in the 55 hurdles (9.97 seconds) to pace the Hawks in Thursday's four-team meet.
