Volleyball players earn all-district recognition

Nov. 7—The Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association released their all-district teams for 2023.

Each class had their own district honorees, with 12 players in each region being selected.

Three Western Boone and one Zionsville player were selected all-district based on their efforts this fall.

For Class 3A's Central Region, Western Boone's Raegan Durbin, Janie Ransom and Alayna Christner earned the honors.

Durbin had 623 kills on the year, a new school record and fifth best in the state, with a hitting percentage of .381, which was 20th best in the state.

Durbin added 223 digs and 53 aces on the year.

Ransom had 1,007 assists on the year, which was 11th best in the state. She passed the 2,000 assist mark for her career, and is approaching 3,000. She also added 109 digs and 37 aces.

Christner had 215 kills this year and had 95 blocks, which was among the top-50 in the state. Her 76 solo blocks was 11th most in the state.

Isabelle Poehlein earned all-district honors in Class 4A.

Poehlein had 173 kills and a .391 hitting percentage on the season.

She had 130 digs and 16 blocks on the year.
