Volcano erupts as friends play volleyball

Nothing to see here! Just a group of people casually playing volleyball in front of an erupting volcano?!

This volcano is located on Iceland’s Reykjanes Peninsula. It’s called the Fagradalsfjall volcano and started erupting on March 20.

On March 27, Rut Einarsdottir recorded this video of friends passing the ball to one another as lava spewed behind them.

Rut explained this is something of a tourist attraction for her community. In fact, she spent one morning having a cup of coffee by it.

Out of all the places to play volleyball, or have coffee, this is certainly not one we’d ever imagine in a million years.
