Virginia Tech has offered Versailles (Ohio) 2018 wing Justin Ahrens. Here's a quick look at him.
Other notable offers
Ohio State (former commit), Dayton, Oakland, Texas A&M
While Ahrens's offer list looks a little sparse, there's a good reason for that: he spent the better part of the past year as an early commitment to Ohio State. When Thad Matta was fired by the Buckeyes, Ahrens opened things up, and he's been hitting the trail a bit. that included a visit to VT late last week, and the Hokies have followed up with a scholarship offer. Ahrens is a good fit for Buzz Williams's system, and had a solid trip to Blacksburg. While the four-star plans to be a little more deliberate in his second time through the recruiting process, VT is set up in good position early.
If Midwest powers (the Purdues, Michigans, Michigan States of the world) come through with opportunities, it could get a little tougher for an out-of-region program, but the Hokies have done well to this point.
