There can’t be too many things soon-to-be 100-year-old Millie Wall hasn’t witnessed, but watching a Minnesota Vikings playoff game in person is one of them, so the team crossed it off her bucket list.
Wall’s granddaughter, Ashley, posted a video to Instagram of Millie reading a letter from the Vikings, who invited one of their longest-running supporter to Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints:
2018 is the year Millie turns 100 years old, and it’s also the year she gets to attend her first playoff game! Thank you @vikings for making a dream come true for this lifelong fan! #BringItHome #skol

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she said, flabbergasted, as her family erupted in cheers.
Wall, 99, has reportedly supported the Vikings since their inception in 1961. She has attended a handful of games in her life, but never in the playoffs, her granddaughter told Vikings.com. Minnesota has hosted 21 playoff games in her lifetime — most recently a 2015 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Vikings haven’t won a playoff game at home since 2009 and hope Millie brings them better luck.
According to the team’s website, Millie is posted up most Sunday afternoons in her living room, “sipping a screwdriver and watching the game,” complete with a foam brick she throws at the TV and retrieves with a string when things aren’t going the Vikings way. Here’s hoping she brings it Sunday.

“Obviously this is a very exciting season for the Vikings, and I was just thinking, ‘Should I be watching the game on the field, or should I be watching my grandma’s reaction to that game?’” Ashley, who will attend Sunday’s game with her grandmother, told Vikings.com. “I think it’s going to just be a really great experience. We’re so excited as a family to watch her and watch everything come to life.”
As it has been for almost 100 years. Millie will hit the century mark on July 4.
