Vikings injury report: Michael Pierce downgraded as doubtful

The Minnesota Vikings released their injury updates on Friday, and defensive tackle Michael Pierce was the lone name listed as doubtful to play against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.

It’s a huge loss along a defensive front that had shown flashes of greatness before everything fell apart. Pierce was a big reason for the success given the gaps he was able to fill with his massive frame.

He was also powerful enough at the point of attack to reel off a career-high three sacks on the season.

The defense had a couple more names on the list with corners Mackensie Alexander and Kris Boyd listed as questionable. Rookie offensive lineman Wyatt Davis is also questionable to play in the finale.

There’s hope Davis will be able to get on the field and get extended reps in an actual game situation, especially with offensive guard Ezra Cleveland and Christian Darrisaw both on the reserve/COVID-19 list.

Linebacker and leading-tackler Erik Kendricks also remained on the list in the newest update.
