Yahoo Sports’ lead draft analyst Eric Edholm shares his evaluation of the BYU quarterback.

ERIC EDHOLM: BYU quarterback Zach Wilson was perhaps the most exciting quarterback in all of college football last season, absolutely shredding defenses for the Cougars. On the upside, he possesses rare improvisational ability. He can buy time with his legs, take off and scramble. He's also got the arm talent, and he can throw on the move to put the entire field in play. On the downside, he's got a bit of a slim build and he's got some injuries in his past, especially in the 2019 season. He didn't play nearly as well last year as he did in 2020. He also didn't face an elite defense in 2020. He's got a so-so track record in his past against top level teams.
For an NFL Comp, this is tricky. There are times when he looks like Aaron Rodgers, times when he looks like Patrick Mahomes. We're gonna drop down just a little bit and go with Kyler Murray. Wilson isn't as fast, but he's got the same sort of playing style that Murray does.
