JARED QUAY: Yes, there was a Thursday night football game between the Dolphins and the Bengals. But the story that overshadows anything that happened on the field is the injury Tua Tagovailoa suffered in the second quarter. He was taken off the field in a stretcher and transported to the hospital, after sustaining head and neck injuries.

Thankfully, it was reported, that Tua was conscious and had movement in all of his extremities. The worst part of the whole situation is that this is the second major injury Tua has faced in five days.

On Sunday against the Bills, Tua left the game temporarily what was being reported as a back injury. But the NFLPA initiated an investigation into a possible concussion. It raises serious questions of whether Tua should have been playing at all. And the answer seems to be a resounding, no.

Much of the social media reaction called for a thorough look into the Dolphins organization. And we'll see what comes out of this horrible situation. As for the game, the Bengals managed to get the win to give the Dolphins their first loss of the season.

Let's send you into the weekend on a more positive note. Over in Philly, the 76ers are busy preparing for a new season. And Joel Embiid told reporters that he became a US citizen last month. Embiid really is a man of the world. He was born in Cameroon, holds French citizenship, and now he can call himself an American.

(SINGING) America.

JARED QUAY: Embiid said, it just made sense since he lives here and his son is American. And that's really nice. But you want to know what else would be really nice for the 76ers? Winning something this year. And at practice, Doc is trying his best to get his guys to buy in.

DOC RIVERS: We need you to be the aggressive James that you were in those last five minutes.

JAMES HARDEN: Yeah.

DOC RIVERS: And it's gonna come. It's gonna take a while. But when it clicks, James, we're gonna be unbeatable.

JARED QUAY: [CHUCKLES] Wow. That does sound beautiful. And apparently, all it would take is for James Harden to be aggressive.

- Is that all?

JARED QUAY: I guess so. You know, Doc needs a good season more than anyone. I mean, how many 3 to 1 leads has he blown? At this point, whenever Doc has a 3 to 1 lead, it's kind of like the Falcons in the Super Bowl, it's gonna go bad. I don't think the Falcons need Tom Brady to play against them, I mean, they would lose that lead to Jared Goff.
