NICK BROMBERG: So much for thinking that Lincoln Riley's move to USC would be the biggest move of the 2021 college football coaching search season. According to Yahoo Sports' Pete Thamel, Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is off to LSU. Just days after he quipped it would take a $250 million contract for him to leave South Bend, and he'd have to run it past his wife first. That LSU contract must be pretty good. Kelly is going to Baton Rouge, a place where Ed Oregron got fired two years after a 15 and 0 season.

Ed Oregron went .500 in those two seasons after LSU won the National championship, and remember, Brian Kelly went 4 and 8 as Notre Dame's head coach in 2016, and the Irish stuck behind him. He is heading into a massively competitive SEC, from a place where he's been extremely successful. Kelly clearly thinks he can win a national title LSU. Something that has escaped him so far at Notre Dame.
