JA'MARR CHASE: I can tell you honestly one of my best stories ever. Les Miles told me I couldn't play receiver.

JARED QUAY: And a few days from now, Bengals rookie receiver Ja'Marr Chase will be playing in the AFC Championship game against the Chiefs. A reporter asked Ja'Marr if he could recall his first bulletin board material moment, and here's what he said.

JA'MARR CHASE: I could tell you honestly one of my best stories ever. Les Miles told me I couldn't play receiver when I was coming out of high school. So you know, that was something I had on my shoulders growing up. And Les Miles told me he thought I could play cornerback, I wasn't really in full position at receiver yet. So I just kept working in my craft offseason. Waking up early in the mornings to work out. I just kept focused.

JARED QUAY: Can we get this straight. A guy with the most receiving yards in college football 2019, who won a national championship at LSU that same year, was told just a few years earlier that he wasn't good enough to play receiver at LSU?

- Just don't make no damn sense.

JARED QUAY: Not only was Ja'Marr good enough to play receiver at LSU, but he broke the Bengals franchise record for most receiving yards in a season, and was selected to the Pro Bowl as a rookie.

See, this is why Les Miles ain't working and Ja'Marr Chase one game away from the Super Bowl. You know who else ain't working anytime soon? Deshaun Watson. Not in New York anyhow, after the Giants owner John Mara swatted down the idea of trading for the troubled quarterback.

JOHN MARA: There's so many reasons why we wouldn't do that. Cap wise we couldn't afford it, but more importantly, with the allegations that are out there right now, that's just not the right fit for us

JARED QUAY: Now, I don't usually agree with decisions of sports team owners, but he's right on this one. Mara must have been drinking some truth serum yesterday, because he also said about quarterback Daniel Jones, quote, "We do feel Daniel can play. We've done everything possible to screw this kid up," end quote. Damn. Yo, my man John Mara is defeated.

- Oh, somebody kill me please.

JARED QUAY: Just a couple of weeks ago, he said Joe Judge era has been the worst experience he's had as a Giants owner. And now, he's talking about how badly [BLEEP] they took their franchise quarterback.

- You're done messed up, Aaron.

JARED QUAY: The Giants owners got to be looking towards their northern neighbors in Buffalo in coveting the hell out of Josh Allen.

- How are things in Buffalo?

JARED QUAY: The Giants took Saquon Barkley with the second overall pick in 2018 draft, and Buffalo drafted Allen with the seventh pick. And I bet what ifs keep running through Morris head at night. Josh Allen is done for the season after the Bills were sent home by the Chiefs in epic fashion, but there's plenty to celebrate in Buffalo.

- There was much rejoicing.

JARED QUAY: In a nod to charitable members of the Bills Mafia, Chiefs fans donated nearly $200,000 to a Children's Hospital with ties to Josh Allen.

- Well.

JARED QUAY: The donations came in $13 increments in honor of Patrick Mahomes' 13 second game tying drive in one of the best NFL games ever played. When there's so much bad news in the world, I love a feel good story like this. But you know, any story involving Bills Mafia has to end to what they do best. Using fake COVID vaccine cards to get into the stadium, and this rolling.
