Over/Under Week 12 - Carson Wentz

Will Eagles' Carson Wentz fly vs. the Seahawks on MNF?

Video Transcript

- All right, final over-under of the show. And yeah, we're talking about everybody's favorite-- least favorite-- I don't know. Carson Wentz, that's who we're talking about.

I'll get us started. The line here is 299 and 1/2 passing yards. And listen, I was all ready to make the case that even Carson Wentz in this flaming disaster of a season for him-- he leads the NFL in fumbles, in interceptions, in times sacked, its terrible Triple Crown of quarterbacking-- I was willing to make the case that he could go over this total because it's Seattle. They give up 344 passing yards per week and all that.

But what did we hear over the last 24 hours? Jalen Hurts has been taking snaps in practice with the first team. Jalen Hurts probably going to see the field this week. That's enough for me. We've been waiting for it for weeks.

It sounds like Philadelphia is finally going to end this absolute Carson Wentz related misery, so I got to take the under here. It's a great match-up. Combined, Hurts and Wentz could maybe go over 300, but I don't think Wentz is going to do it on his own. We'll see if anybody is bold enough to take over on this. Matt, what say you?

- I don't know that bold is the word I would have gone with for taking the over here. There's not a chance. There is no universe where I was going to sit in this chair-- no matter how convincing you are, Andy, and you can be quite convincing-- there was no way I was going to sit here and pick over. Jalen Hurts or not. Still, give me a break.

Also the Seahawks-- like, since they've got Carlos Dunlap, like, he's kind of making a difference for that pass rush. No matter what, I think the Seahawks are going to have a convincing victory when they play the Eagles. Jalen Hurts, not, it doesn't matter to me. I'm going under on this one confidently.

- Jared, is it a sweep?

- I didn't want to go under, but I have to here. Jalen Hurts coming in also makes a move, but the Eagles do play better in prime time games. I mean, they beat the 49'ers in a prime time game.

I just think that Carson Wentz takes too many sacks and if he's throwing the ball fast to get it out there, I just don't think it gets completed a lot of times. And 300 yards is a lot of yards. This is a good quarterback game, so I just don't think he gets there at all. I'm going under.
