Mad Bets: Major Upsets Helped Vegas in Week 3
Minty Bets is joined by the Director of Trading for MGM Resorts, Jeff Stoneback, to discuss the top winners and losers from NFL Week 3.

MINTY BETS: Week 3 of the NFL has come to an end. It is time for winners and losers. Joining me today is Jeff Stonebeck, Director of Trading for MGM resorts. So crazy week again. What was the winner of the house today?
JEFF STONEBECK: Well, the house actually won today-- our first winning week. It took us three weeks into the season to do it. We had some upsets finally this week instead of all those favorites covering like we did last week.
So big games for us was the Lions beating the Cardinals. That was our number one winner of the day and the Falcons folding, again, in the second half. That also was very good for the book and frustrating, again, for the backers of the Falcons. And another upset-- the Panthers beating the Chargers straight up. Those were our three big winners for the day.
MINTY BETS: Oh, don't remind me of that one. And then who were the winners of the public today?
JEFF STONEBECK: Public was all over the Patriots today. That game went from five on Thursday up to seven today. But the big one-- again, just like last week-- was the Sunday night game.
We had a lot of parlays rolling into this game. So with the Packers winning and the game going over, that was our biggest loser of the day. And then the Tom Brady Bucs laying the six points over the Broncos-- the public were all over them. So that was another loser for us today.
MINTY BETS: OK. And I see, mentioning overs, there have been a lot of overs these past couple weeks. And were there a lot of over bettors? Has that affected the swing for you guys at all?
JEFF STONEBECK: Yeah, anytime we get a lot of overs, games going over, it hurts us. And that happened today when nine of those games went over. And, you know, they all rolled into the Sunday night game. So that was a definite blow to us.
You know, we were having a really nice day, and we did give about half of the profit that we had earned for the day. And a lot of that was due to the game going over tonight.
