ZACH SCHWARTZ: All right, we are joined by Krysten Peek to take a look at this year's NBA draft class. We want to go through some of the options for the Golden State Warriors. As we know, the Minnesota Timberwolves have the number 1 pick. But the Warriors are a whole hell of a lot more fun to talk about. And number 2, which way do you kind of see these guys going, and what's sort of the best option for them?

KRYSTEN PEEK: I want to say they've got about seven or eight guys that could easily go number 2, or they could trade down for. And you got to decide, do you want the big players like a James Wiseman, Onyeka Okongwu, Deni Avdija, Obi Toppin? Or do you want the more skilled guards like we're seeing flourish in the league.

They can visit any player I think it's up to 10 times, 4 and 1/2 hours each time until November 16. So there's Bob Myers and Steve Kerr are going to be on a lot of flights from now until the draft.

LAJETHRO JENKINS: Do you think the LaMelo Ball has a chance to drop to 2?

KRYSTEN PEEK: He could. Anything can happen. And if he does drop to 2, if I'm the Warriors, I think it's a no-brainer. You take him. He's a great quote-unquote "third flash brother" for Steph and Klay and someone that can come off the bench and step in right away and be that showboating, you know, exciting player that the Warriors fans are used to seeing.

And I know people want to knock his shooting percentage back in Australia where he only shot 25% from 3, and I think like, 35% from the field. But he was on the worst team in the NBO over in Australia. I went and saw him play at two games, and nobody on his team could do anything. And him, alone, was selling out every arena. So he's 1 or 2 in my book. If the Timberwolves don't take him, then the Warriors will definitely take him at 2.

ZACH SCHWARTZ: If the Warriors are looking to take someone that's going to be the most ready to play minutes in these incredibly big games, who should they be looking at taking?

KRYSTEN PEEK: When I was doing my mock draft last week, I'm like, OK, James Wiseman. I just need some film on him. You posted this photo of him looking like huge in the gym. And I'm like, OK, he is the five, the stretch four that they need.

And then I go down to Atlanta. I see Deni Avdija, who's out of Israel. And he's going to be the highest picked Israeli player to ever play in the NBA, and he was amazing. And his game is kind of similar with Obi Toppin.

So if we're talking big, I think those three are the most NBA ready. And if you're looking at skilled guards, there isn't any one at the top that's going to be able to play alongside Steph and Klay. I think you're looking for the next generation player.

LAJETHRO JENKINS: Anthony Edwards is really interesting. He had like, what? 33 and 1/2 at some point in this game. I mean, in some point this past season. Who would you compare him to?

KRYSTEN PEEK: His early comparisons are, you know, his stealing a mix between Victor Oladipo, Dwyane Wade, and Donovan Mitchell both.

ZACH SCHWARTZ: Wow.

KRYSTEN PEEK: Any time you hear those three names, you're like, you have to take a hard look at him. And he was also before he started playing basketball, he was like a five-star wide receiver. So he's got great hands. He's athletic. He's probably the most NBA body ready in this draft. It'll just be interesting to see what the Warriors think when they see him in person and how they'll fit-- and how he'll fit in their system.

ZACH SCHWARTZ: Krysten, thanks for joining us. I know John and I are bummed to not be going this in these high school games in LA with you due to COVID.

KRYSTEN PEEK: Yeah, I know.

ZACH SCHWARTZ: But I'm excited to see all your draft coverage as we get closer to the November draft, and I know you've got some phenomenal profiles in the pipeline.

KRYSTEN PEEK: Thanks for having me, guys.
