Video: Baker Mayfield checks in after shoulder surgery

Cleveland Browns QB Baker Mayfield went into Wednesday’s shoulder surgery “excited” to get it completed. The surgery had been planned for a little while to address the shoulder that was injured in Week 2 and reinjured a few weeks later.

Mayfield’s recovery is expected to take a few months, possibly through free agency and the NFL draft. GM Andrew Berry has stated that the team expects Mayfield to have a bounce-back year in 2022. This followed a report from the NFL Network that the team and player had a positive meeting with the QB set to return as the starter next year.

Following his surgery on Wednesday, Mayfield posted a video to Instagram to update fans, noted the difficulty of the year once again and thanked his fans:

As Berry noted, the team is also hoping Mayfield can “get back to my true self.”

We will continue to share Mayfield’s recovery as he promised to continue updating everyone over time.
