Veterans Park pickleball court temporaily closed due to Ternion Warrior Classic Tournament

In an announcement made by the St. John’s County Parks & Recreation Department via their official Facebook page, it was revealed that all pickleball courts at Veterans Park will be unavailable for public use this weekend.

The closure is scheduled from Saturday, May 27, 2023, to Sunday, May 28, 2023, to accommodate the highly anticipated Ternion Warrior Classic Pickleball Tournament.

Organizers of the tournament have arranged for exclusive access to the pickleball courts during the specified dates to ensure seamless and uninterrupted competition. The closure aims to provide a conducive environment for the participating players and maintain the integrity of the event.

However, the announcement also includes a contingency plan in case of inclement weather affecting the tournament schedule.

If either Saturday or Sunday’s matches are postponed due to adverse weather conditions, all pickleball courts at Veterans Park may also be reserved on Monday, May 29, 2023.

Pickleball enthusiasts and park visitors are advised to plan their activities accordingly and explore alternative recreation options available within the vicinity of St. John’s County during the temporary closure.

Regular public access to the pickleball courts at Veterans Park will resume once the Ternion Warrior Classic Pickleball Tournament concludes.

The playground at Veterans Park will also be closed due to maintenance from Tuesday, May 30 through Friday, June 2.
