UWS women's hockey stopped at Augsburg

Jan. 9—MINNEAPOLIS — Wisconsin-Superior was unable to stop a seven-game losing streak from becoming eight on Tuesday, Jan. 9, as a pair of goals from Emily Schoeberl led to a 3-1 Augsburg victory in a nonconference women's hockey game.

After UWS fell behind late in the first period, Jenna Hoops helped the Yellowjackets get that goal back when she scored 43 seconds into the following frame, with assists from Cora Coz and Brynn MacLean.

However, Schoeberl broke the deadlock 11:10 into the second period, then scored again at near the same point in the third to finish it off.

Abby Pajari (Proctor/Hermantown) and Molly Black split goaltending duties for UWS, with Black stopping 12 shots in the first half of the game before Pajari made 22 saves in the second half.

UWS (4-11-1), whose losing streak was entirely outside of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play, returns to the league for the rest of its schedule, starting on Thursday at home vs. Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
