USC is the only Pac-12 basketball team to do one specific thing the past 4 seasons
Yes, the USC Trojans lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year, this time falling to the seventh-seeded Michigan State Spartans.
With Drew Peterson and Boogie Ellis’ USC careers coming to an end, it’s time to reflect on just how special their run was.
Peterson was a part of the 2021 Elite Eight team that fell to Gonzaga, and Ellis fit right in after transferring from Memphis and emerged as the Trojans’ primary scorer.
However, there’s one interesting nugget that might be surprising: USC is the only team in the Pac-12 to finish third or better over the past four seasons.
That is surprising, especially in a conference that includes Oregon, Utah, UCLA, and Arizona, not to mention the Trojans losing players such as the Mobley brothers and Chevez Goodwin over the past couple of seasons.
Yet, despite all that, consistency has been there in Pac-12 Conference play. Yes, Andy Enfield’s team got bounced in the first round once again, but March Madness is unpredictable (just ask Purdue, Arizona, and many others).
The future of the USC Trojans basketball team is extremely bright, and Andy Enfield has turned this program around.
