USA TODAY Sports' Week 8 NFL picks: Do Lions clip Eagles for first win of 2021?

Best game on the NFL's Week 8 lineup?

Thursday night's matchup between the Green Bay Packers (6-1) and undefeated Arizona Cardinals (7-0) is certainly juicy and also marks the highest combined winning percentage (.929) of opponents in a post-September Thursday night game during the Super Bowl era (since 1966). But not many people are choosing the Pack as they deal with a bout of COVID-19.

What about Sunday night's showdown between the Dallas Cowboys (5-1) and Minnesota Vikings (3-3) at U.S. Bank Stadium? It should be pretty compelling ... assuming Dallas QB Dak Prescott (calf) plays. Of course, if he does, no one's picking Kirk Cousins to win under the "SNF" lights.

So perhaps the most compelling bout of the weekend is ... the Philadelphia Eagles facing the Lions in Detroit? Philly has lost five of six and could be just what the winless but scrappy Lions need in order to finally break into the win column. Three of our NFL experts foresee an outright Detroit victory, and all but one think they'll at least cover the 3½-point spread.
