USA TODAY Sports/MMA Junkie rankings, Feb. 21: Erin Blanchfield makes huge leap

The women’s flyweight division has a new contender in the mix, and her name is Erin Blanchfield.

In the main event of UFC Fight Night 219, Blanchfield (11-1 MMA, 5-0 UFC) submitted former strawweight champion Jessica Andrade in the second round. It was a spectacular performance, and the biggest win of her career thus far. Now, Blanchfield finds herself knocking on the door of a title shot after her fifth win under the UFC banner.

Entering the week at No. 14 in the USA TODAY SPORTS/MMA Junkie women’s flyweight rankings, Blanchfield propelled herself all the way up to the No. 3 spot, replacing Andrade.
