Updated final injury report for Chiefs vs. Browns, Week 1

The Kansas City Chiefs have issued an update to their injury report on Saturday, adding a game status designation to a newly activated player. The Cleveland Browns haven’t issued an update, but they made a transaction that suggests a questionable player will be ruled out.

Chiefs

• Tyrann Mathieu was officially activated from the Reserve/COVID-19 list, but he's not guaranteed to play. He's listed as questionable by the team and will reportedly be a true game-time decision. Testing negative for COVID-19 was only part of the equation. Will Mathieu feel healthy and comfortable enough to play?

• Steve Spagnuolo had this to say of Mathieu on Thursday: ". . . I think we’ve got to be fair to him. We always say this: ‘Sometimes you’ve got to protect the players from themselves.’ So we’ll be careful there. Coach Reid and I have talked about it. We’ve talked about it with Rick (Burkholder). We’ll see where we are when the time comes."

Browns

• The Browns elevated K Chris Naggar from the practice squad, suggesting that Chase McLaughlin (questionable) might sit out with his hamstring injury.
