BBC Sport's chief football writer, Phil McNulty, has been answering your questions on Manchester United:

Harrison Ncube in Johannesburg asked: Hi Phil, I'm still in this bubble of excitement from a classic victory over the old enemy. What do you think was the secret to Manchester United's victory? What did you take from this performance? How did they pull this rabbit from the hat because wow, that was a magical victory?

Phil McNulty replied: Hello Harrison. I bet you are. I think the secret to Manchester United’s win was that they stuck in there, showed character, made sure they stayed in the game and then took the chances when they came along. Maybe not such a secret after all.

I think I take from this performance that this team has it in them to produce displays like this against top sides like Liverpool but they don’t do it often enough. They must use this as a platform to make sure it is the rule rather than the exception.
