With the young season underway, we’re seeing more and more the influence of the strikeout. Hitters who walk more than they swing-and-miss are extremely valuable, as are pitchers who put together the whiffs in bunches.
Fantasy baseball expert Scott Pianowski has highlighted a trio of players who fit this bill.
First up, the Kansas City Royals’ Alex Gordon. Sure, he’s not a kid anymore, but he’s walking more than he’s striking out, and he’s started the season off on a high note.
Next is Dwight Smith, Jr. He plays for Baltimore, but there is value to be had in this 26 year old.
Finally, Scott makes the case for Nick Anderson, a Marlins reliever with a ferocious curve-slider hybrid who is piling up the Ks.
