UNC WR Josh Downs is ‘on track’ to play vs. Notre Dame

·1 min read

The UNC football program will likely get its best player on offense back on the field for Saturday’s showdown with Notre Dame in Chapel Hill.

After missing the previous two games with a leg injury, wide receiver Josh Downs is reportedly on track to play against the Fighting Irish as he will return to practice this week.

Matt Zenitz of On3 is reporting that Downs is ‘on track’ to make his return here in Week 4 for the Tar Heels, some good news for Phil Longo’s offense as they look to go 4-0 to start the 2022 season. On Monday, Mack Brown confirmed that Downs would return to practice this week:

The Tar Heels will evaluate Downs throughout the week and monitor his situation. But barring any setback, it does appear as if the Tar Heels will get their best weapon back for the first time since Week 1.
