UNC basketball moves up in latest bracketology update

The North Carolina Tar Heels went out and won a game they needed to win on Monday night, beating Florida State despite the Seminoles making a late push.

It was a game that would have hurt the Tar Heels more had they lost than help them if they had won. UNC was in a no-win situation.

With the win, the Tar Heels moved up at least a little in the latest bracketology update from Joe Lunardi.

The ESPN writer released his updated full bracket on Tuesday and North Carolina went from team No. 70 to the ‘first team out’ at No. 69. That’s a spot UNC was in just a few weeks back.

Lunardi has Arizona State jumping UNC and moving into the last four in, taking over fro Oklahoma State which lost on Monday. West Virginia also moved up after beating Iowa State on the road and is part of the last four byes section.

North Carolina has one game left against Duke before the ACC Tournament begins next week. Meanwhile, Arizona State has games against UCLA and USC left.

Also among the last four are Wisconsin, Mississippi State and Boise State.

It’s simple for UNC. They need to beat Duke before going into the ACC Tournament. I don’t know if it will be enough for the tournament pending on what others do, but winning is the best resolution for the Tar Heels.
