UFC Fight Night 198 post-event facts: Rare 0-5 UFC record enters history books

UFC Fight Night 198 took place Saturday at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, and with 10 decision results, it turned out to be one of the more forgettable events of the year.

It won’t be remembered that way for Ketlen Vieira (12-2 MMA, 6-2 UFC), though, as she put a signature win on her resume when she outworked Miesha Tate (19-8 MMA, 6-5 UFC) to a unanimous decision in the women’s bantamweight headliner.

UFC Fight Night 198 featured 10 decision results, tied for the second most on a single card in history behind UFC 263, which featured 11 decisions.

The UFC Promotional Guidelines Compliance payout for the event totaled $140,000.

Debuting fighters went 0-1 at the event.

[autotag]Taila Santos[/autotag], [autotag]Adrian Yanez[/autotag] and [autotag]Davey Grant[/autotag] earned $50,000 UFC Fight Night 198 fight-night bonuses.

The UFC sold VIP tickets to fans for UFC Fight Night 198, but the promotion did not make public the total number of tickets sold or the gate.

Betting favorites went 6-4 on the card. One fight had even odds.

Betting favorites fell to 25-14 with one no contest in UFC headliners this year.

Total fight time for the 11-bout card was 2:44:49.

Ketlen Vieira def. Miesha Tate

Vieira has earned five of her six UFC victories by decision.

Vieira’s six victories in UFC women’s bantamweight competition are tied for third-most in divisional history behind Amanda Nunes (11) and Raquel Pennington (eight).

Tate fell to 1-1 since she returned to competition from a nearly five-year layoff in July 2021.

Sean Brady def. Michael Chiesa

[autotag]Sean Brady[/autotag]’s (15-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC) five-fight UFC winning streak at welterweight is tied for the second-longest active streak in the division behind Kamaru Usman (15).

Brady has earned three of his five UFC victories by decision.

[autotag]Michael Chiesa[/autotag] (18-6 MMA, 11-6 UFC) fell to 4-2 since he moved up to the welterweight division in December 2018.

Chiesa has completed at least one takedown against 15 of his 16 UFC opponents.

Chiesa suffered the first decision loss of his career.

Santos’ (19-1 MMA, 4-1 UFC) four-fight UFC winning streak at women’s flyweight is the second longest active streak in the division behind Valentina Shevchenko (eight).

Santos has earned 13 of her 19 career victories by stoppage.

Santos earned her first submission victory since Apr. 4, 2015 – a span of 2,422 days (nearly seven years) and 12 fights.

[autotag]Joanne Wood[/autotag] (15-7 MMA, 7-7 UFC) fell to 5-4 in UFC women’s flyweight competition. She’s 6-4 in her career at 125 pounds.

Wood has suffered all four of her career stoppage losses by first-round submission.

Soriano fell to 0-2 since his returned to the UFC for a second stint in May.

Soriano is the third fighter in UFC history to start 0-5 with the organization. John Alessio and Naoyuki Kotani are the others.
