UConn Huskies star freshman Paige Bueckers won her first Big East Player of the Week award after scoring 30-plus points in both of the team's wins, becoming the third UConn freshman to be named conference player of the week.

Bueckers also won her seventh Big East Freshman of the Week award, becoming the first to sweep both Big East weekly honors since Villanova’s Maddy Siegrist did so on Dec. 23, 2019.

She is just the fourth player in league history to sweep the awards, along with Siegrist, Marquette’s Allazia Blockton (Feb. 15, 2016) and fellow UConn star Maya Moore (March 4, 2008).

The Huskies beat St. John's 94-62 and Marquette 87-58, improving to 13-1 on the season and remaining at No. 3 in the polls.

Bueckers is averaging 20.4 points, 5.5 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game over ten games this season. She'll have a tough matchup on Monday night, facing off against No.2 South Carolina.
